Keycast installs new melting furnaces in the Kohlswa steel foundry

2008-01-29 Keycast has ordered two new 3 ton melting furnaces. The new induction furnaces will more than double the existing melting capacity to 6,000 tons per year. The power of 1700 kW at 1000 Hz can be flexibly directed to both furnaces. The commissioning is being carried out by the furnace supplier ABP supported by local companies. The first production melt is scheduled for the 4th of August 2008. The new melting furnaces will give us the means to meet increasing customer demands and strengthen Keycast's position in the business area of shell moulded steel castings for heavy vehicles. The installation will be carried out during the summer maintenance stop and hence will not affect the delivery situation according to Plant Manager Harri Bahrman.
