Casting Design

Engineering the casted solution and preparing for production is core competence in Keycast. Years of foundrymen experience is combined with state of the art simulation tools in order to get a smooth start of production and consistent quality.

Keycast customers owns the product drawing and specification but these are developed in close cooperation with Keycast design engineers for the most cost effective final solution. One major part of this work is the mould filling and design of the ingot system and feeders. In this process Keycast uses commercially available software NovaFlow & Solid from Novacast (http://www.novacast.se).

Indata is a 3D model and the result is visualized in 2D or 3D. Casting defects such as inclusions due to turbulence or shrinkage porosity can be avoided and the metal yield kept high. Keycast uses CAD software Pro Engineer, Mechanical Desktop, Inventor and Solid Works.
